Most Common CD Pressing Questions

CD Duplication is ideal for short runs and involves burning data onto blank CDs, much like home CD burners but with professional equipment. CD Replication, on the other hand, is perfect for larger quantities, as it involves creating a glass master and then pressing CDs from it. Replication offers the most durable and consistent product, while Duplication is fast and great for smaller runs.

We are able to put up to 74 minutes of audio on a disc. This helps ensure the disc’s stability and playback compatibility across a wide range of CD players.

An International Standard Recording Code (ISRC) is a unique identifier assigned to each track for royalty tracking and reporting. You’ll need it if you plan to distribute your music digitally or monitor airplay and streaming royalties. It’s a simple addition that can help you track your music’s performance globally.

Most DDPs (Disc Description Protocol files) include CD Text and ISRC codes by default, so if you upload a DDP, you’re all set. In fact, since these features are typically embedded in the DDP file, we don’t offer the option to add them separately when you use a DDP for your CD order. This makes for a streamlined process, ensuring all the necessary metadata is already in place for your final product.

Absolutely! CDs remain popular with collectors, fans who appreciate high-quality audio, and listeners who love having a physical connection to the music. Many musicians and independent artists find that CDs are still a great way to share music, especially at live shows or as a keepsake.
