Most Common CD Pressing Questions

CD duplication is the go-to option for short runs. It works by burning your audio onto blank discs using professional-grade equipment, similar to a home burner but with a much more polished result. Replication is designed for larger orders and involves creating a glass master to press each disc. Replication gives you the most durable and consistent product, while CD duplication offers fast turnaround and is perfect for smaller quantities.

For best stability and playback across players, we recommend keeping disc length to 74 minutes of audio. This ensures smooth, reliable performance for your fans.

An ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) is a unique identifier assigned to each track, used for royalty tracking and play reporting. If you plan to distribute your music digitally or monitor radio and streaming activity, including ISRC codes in your CD duplication project is essential.

Most DDPs (Disc Description Protocol files) include CD Text and ISRC codes by default, so if you upload a DDP, you’re all set. In fact, since these features are typically embedded in the DDP file, we don’t offer the option to add them separately when you use a DDP for your CD order. This makes for a streamlined process, ensuring all the necessary metadata is already in place for your final product.

Absolutely! CDs remain a strong merch item for independent artists and labels. While streaming dominates everyday listening, physical discs still hold value for their high-quality audio, collectible artwork, and personal connection. Whether you sell them at shows, bundle them with merch, or offer them as keepsakes, CD duplication gives your fans something tangible to take home and treasure.
